Privacy Policy

    In short: Corner is a local-first journaling app.
    All your data stays on your device. We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information.
  

1. What Data We Collect

None. Corner does not collect, track, or share any personal data. All journal entries, moods, tags, photos, and settings are stored exclusively on your iPhone using local storage (Hive database and the app's document directory). No data is sent to any server, analytics service, or third party.

2. Photo Library Access

Corner can request access to your photo library only when you choose to add a photo to a journal entry or export a long image to your camera roll. These permissions are used solely for the feature you explicitly trigger:

Add Photo — you pick an image from your library to attach to a diary entry.
Save to Camera Roll — you export a diary summary as a long image and save it to Photos.

Corner never reads or uploads your entire photo library. You can revoke this permission at any time in iPhone Settings.

3. Notifications

If you enable the daily reminder, Corner schedules a local notification on your device. No notification data is sent to any server. You can disable or customise reminders from the in-app Settings screen.

4. iCloud Backup

Corner stores its data in your app's Documents directory, which is automatically backed up to iCloud by iOS when iCloud Backup is enabled. This is a standard iOS feature, not an explicit data-sharing mechanism by Corner. Corner itself does not have access to your iCloud account or any data stored there.

5. Internet & Networking

Corner is a fully offline app. It does not make any network connections. The only exception is a local push notification scheduled entirely on your device — no network calls involved.

6. Third-Party Services

Corner uses no third-party analytics, crash reporting, advertising, or tracking SDKs.

7. Data Retention & Deletion

All data remains on your device for as long as the app is installed. When you delete an entry within the app, it is removed immediately from the local database. When you uninstall Corner, all associated data is permanently deleted from your device.

8. Children's Privacy

Corner is not directed at children under 13 (or the applicable age of consent in your region). We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. You are encouraged to review this policy periodically.
